Ritsuo Tsuchida is one of the Founders and Managing Members of Blowfish Sushi to Die For. Ritsuo received his Chefs license from the Office of the Mayor in Tokyo, Japan in 1992. He comes from a long line of chefs and his family takes great pride in being in the restaurant business in Tokyo for several generations. His family boasts one Chinese, one French, and two Japanese family chefs. Mr. Tsuchidas fusion inspirations are essentially an inheritance from his family members. In 1990, he caught the eye of Master Chef Konokai, one of the members of the Sushi Chef Association of Tokyo, a prestigious group whose members are the elite sushi chefs of Japan. Master Konokai, chooses two apprentices per year from the entire country, and therefore, chooses only the best young chef candidates. It is a true honor and privilege to train under this master. Ritsuo trained and worked with master Konakai for three years and developed a reputation as a celebrated chef/prodigy in Japan. It was Master Konokai who encouraged Ritsuo to explore the world and take his skills and talents abroad. After working at several Bay Area restaurants, Ritsuo helped open the first Blowfish Sushi To Die For in San Francisco. Ritsu-sans remarkable skill for imaginative taste combinations and food artistry are a delight to experience, and every meal becomes a special occasion. Mr. Tsuchida is truly a young master whose talents are apparent from every dish. Currently, Ritsuo is in the process of organizing a compelling team of chefs for Blowfishs expansion. Several members of the team are other prodigys from Japan eager to display their skills abroad. He is also licensed to serve Fugu, the Northern Pufferfish. Mr. Tsuchida, along with Mr. Jason Teplitsky opened Blowfish Sushi to Die For San Jose in the highly publicized, billion-dollar, Santana Row Development. Mr. Tsuchida was born in Tokyo, Japan and immigrated to the United States in 1995. He is fluent in Japanese and English.
