I promise I am not crazy
Anita Williams grew up in southern New Jersey but moved to York County, Pennsylvania 33 years ago with her husband, Douglas. Anita received her B.S. in Art Education from Millersville University. After taking time to raise her two daughters, Anita started teaching art in the Spring Grove Area School District. She completed her M.S. in Education from Wilkes University. Anita taught art at the High School level for nine years. She has been teaching at the intermediate level for the last four years.
After her children went off to college, Anita found more time to pursue her art. When she heard about Wilson College’s new low residency MFA in Visual Art and Choreography, she was one of the first to sign up.
Anita is continually developing her artistic “voice”. Most paintings are inspired by nature and movement. Some begin “plein air”. Others are developed through memory, imagination or spontaneous application of paint
Anita has participated in several local exhibitions and juried shows. She was a resident artist at the Red Raven Gallery in Lancaster for one year. Currently she is working as an artist in residence at the Bluebrick Gallery in Gettysburg.

EXHIBITION NEWS

Today was a great day! I was invited to a women's empowerment brunch, organized by my former amazing and beautiful student, Tatiana. I spent the afternoon at the York Art Association's Juried Art Exhibition. Two of my paintings were accepted and I was honored to meet many wonderful York County artists and supporters of the Arts.
