At this stage the designer researched color pallettes, created a moodboad, and began doing preliminary sketches to generate ideas. From these sketches came the final logo, the fire berry, and the smiling sun.
Next, the sketches are transformed into a snapshot of what the levels would look like on screen, including all of the elements. It was decided each level would have three different sized platforms and various collectibles, but would be a different environment related to the concept of Crystal Island.
