COFFEE, GRUNGE, SH*T

Welcome to reality.

Embrace messy hair

Because we like a little Pearl Jam with our coffee. Some Kurt Cobain with our milk and sugar. This is how we rock out at The Pot.

Because grunge isn't dead.

Started in the golden age of the 1990s, in the heart of grunge culture, Seattle, where few had suspicions if grunge was going to make it through the decade, Dane and Petunia began the Grunge Cellar where live bands played every Friday and Saturday night. It was cool, I guess. After a few years, the cellar began carrying a liquor license and that really spiced up the crowd. Eventually, the shows grew so late into the evening, the coffee we'd supply from our home coffee machine wasn't cutting it. So we grew into the espresso business and began serving the most notorious coffee in all of Washington. In later years, we changed our name to The Pot, since every other shop was opening a live band cellar downstairs and we don't follow trends.

We continue live bands every Friday and Saturday night, they're listed on our site here. We won't treat you like a cob nobler if you're new to The Pot. Sure we're rebels, a punk/metal hybrid mix, but we're more than content to share the freedom. Wear your fuzz and wack slacks, we don't care, we're nothing formal. We consider no lamestains are drinking our coffee.

We're open everyday of the week. Including Monday…Monday you bastard. Coffee and espresso are always brewed fresh, a cup of joe here always has a punch of flavor. It's like being in a mosh pit, only it's in your mouth. Oh it'll wake you up, you'll definitely consider washing your hair, but we all know how that feeling is only temporary. We buy all of our beans from various countries in South America, just brew them Seattle style.

Have something to recommend? New bands? We might listen if you go here.

Come on by when you feel your adolescent angst rebelling again. Rock on.
