CONCEPT Vinyl Collection App: This app would be almost like the Apple Books app. It would provide you with a shelf like image where you can link the vinyl’s you buy and they will be stored on your shelf. You can also play the selected vinyl you want and instead of the high quality streaming sound you will get the effect people like when listening to vinyl’s. Also within the app you can look up local vinyl shops and search their inventory to see what they have even before going to the store.
COMPETITORS I like how Vinyl Mini showcases the vinyl playing with all of the features of a real player. (Knobs / settings / etc) The Vinyl District is a good showcase of a good user interface for showing locations. Discogs is a good layout for showcasing your vinyl collection. My app would be free, and the app would make money from adds and also provide a fair amount of money given back to the artists. It would also be nice to have all of these features in one app like I plan to do.
