Ludum Dare
Ludum Dare is a regular accelerated game development Event. Participants develop games from scratch in a weekend, based on a theme suggested by community. Ludum Dare was founded by Geoff Howland, and held its first competition in April of 2002. Since then the community has run more than 22 regular Events, several dozens of practice competitions, collectively creating many thousands of games in just a weekend each. The event attracts developers from all sides of the industry. Students, hobbyists, industry professionals from many well respected game studios, as well as many independent game developers.

Buffalo Game Space
Buffalo Game Space is an Indie Game Developers Collective is a membership-based group of creative individuals (visual artists, musicians, writers, programmers, educators, students, professionals and hobbyists) interested in creating and developing games, and DIY interactive projects. The collective's mission is to develop and nurture an environment that stimulates creativity, innovation, and provides a forum for exchange of ideas, resources, information and methods that aid artists, independent game designers and developers in realizing their ideas. Additionally, the collective's mission is to promote its members by organizing presentations, showcases, and assist in publishing their games and interactive projects.

Philly Game Forge
The Philly Game Forge is the home of game development co-working in Philadelphia, located in Old City at 239 Chestnut St. Do you make games or do anything related to the creation of games? Ever wanted to make a game of your own? Come to Dev Night, a once-a-week throwdown for game developers in Philly! We talk games, play games, make games, compete, collaborate, and share. Dev Night is a creative time for creative people in a creative space. Programmers, artists, designers, writers, students, hobbyists, full-time devs, board game-makers, and enthusiasts are all welcome!

Global Game Jam
The Global Game Jam (GGJ) is the world's largest game jam event (game creation) taking place around the world at physical locations. GGJ is organised by the Global Game Jam, Inc., an international non-profit corporation based in San Luis Obispo, California, with a mission to foster game design and game education through innovative events.
