In August 2010, Angela Malpedo began an exciting journey fulfilling her childhood dream! Born and raised in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania she always imagined having a bakery of her own. Angela aka Sugar Babe, started baking and sharing her delectable treats with family, friends, and the Lehigh Valley community! She started from scratch, mixing ingredients in a rented church kitchen, where she baked thousands of cupcakes for weddings and events.

In 2012, using the finest and freshest ingredients, Angela opened the Sugar Babe Cupakes storefront on Broad Street in the Downtown Bethlehem Historic District, where she serves the community with a daily offering of cupcakes and baked treats, as well as a wide array of specialty coffees.

Founded with the sweetness of community, Angela incorporates her passion of giving back into her business. Every month, a proceeds of all sales is donated back into the community, via a different nonprofit organization. Sugar Babe has also been a major donor the the Lehigh Valley Lukemia & Lymphoma Society, and in 2013, Angela was named Lukemia & Lymphoma Society's Woman of the Year.

Sugar Babe also offers a rotating selection of vegan, gluten-free, and sugar-free cupcakes. All flavors can be made to these specifications by request.
