Located on the Main Street of Kutztown and within walking distance to Kutztown University of Pennsylvania’s campus, owner, Merlin Evergreen opened Dynomite Disks, in June 1987. A flower child from the 1960s and an early pioneer in the vegan lifestyle and animal rights movements, Merlin entered the 1970s music industry as a roadie for Foghat. He toured the globe working alongside some of the biggest names in rock 'n' roll history. His love of music and the decade stayed with him. Especially his affection for the vinyl form of the classic record album.

Dynomite Disks has become the premiere place to buy the classic vinyl record in all of eastern Pennsylvania. Merlin continually refers to the purity of the medium capturing the raw power of the music, as opposed to the more sterile digital technology of audio recording today. "It's just not the same. The new stuff just doesn't have the same heart and soul!" The spirit of the store is evident with the nostalgia throughout, taking customers back to a very different and "dynomite" era once long forgotten.

Our mission is to rock out like it's 1975 and to showcase the talent and classic medium to future generations of music lovers. Dynomite Disks has a massive collection of albums from some of the greatest artists of all time like Led Zeppelin, the Rolling Stones, The Jackson Five and so much more. You name it, we got it. Dynomite Disks has also become an integral member of the Kutztown community sponsoring many town events with Merlin even performing from time to time.
