Downtown Shenandoah, Inc. hosts several events throughout the year that celebrate the town and its heritage.
The Annual Kielbasi Festival takes place on Main Street during a Saturday in May. The festival features food by the Capital Food Market, Lucky's Corner Deli and Kielbasi Shop, Kowalonek's Kielbasi Shop, Mrs. T's Pierogies as well as other vendors and organizations. There are also crafts, a Kielbasi making contest, and of course Polkas!
Fun run for ages 12 and under starts at 9:00, 10k starts at 10:00. Registration is at DSI office at 7:30 AM.
Includes lunch, dinner and refreshments all day.
The Annual Heritage Day and Parade of Nations takes place every August. This event features a parade showcasing the town's diversity. The parade is followed by ethnic foods, games, music, and crafts in Girard Park.
A Dickens Christmas is held each November. This celebration of the holiday season features horse drawn carriage rides, music, and scenes from A Christmas Carol.
