In 1970, my family and I left Agrigento, Italy and settled in New York to pursue the land of opportunity. With little money and big dreams we learned the art of New York style pizza. Our dreams were then realized and it was confirmed that America is the land of opportunity. In 1978 we opened our first restaurant in Woodbridge, VA and sold it in 1981 to open Joe's Place at Bailey's Crossroads. With ongoing success, we opened Joe's Place in Arlington, Vienna, Fairfax City and in Gaithersburg.

Over time we have become known as having the best pizza in town. A review in "The Washington Post" said that the reason to go to Joe's is excellent pizza.

In 2007, we decided to consolidate the operations and keep only the Arlington and Vienna locations open. This has allowed us to have more members of the family on site and strengthen our concept of consistent customer satisfaction.

We are deeply moved and appreciatve from the hundreds of emails recieved from our customers expressing the concern over the changes.

We consider our cooking to be health concious and flavorful. We were one of the first restaurants in the Washington area to go "Smoke Free in '93."
