Under the Weather Documentation

Under the Weather is a fusion of a weather app and health app. It’s features incule a daily weather update, including index perdictions, and journal logs. The journal logs allow you to track your health, and better manage your physical and mental health. All logs include a weather/date time stamps and are saved to a calendar. So the user may review their past entry logs.

Research: Competitors and Analysis

There are a lot of weather apps on the market, and most of them offer the same thing. It’s a daily forecast, and maybe a week forecast. I took a lot of inspiration from an app called WTF Forecast. I liked their illustrations and format and the index prediction section.Daylio is a health app that allows you to track your mental health and gives you streaks/awards when you achieve your mental health goals. For example, setting a goal to go to sleep early everyday, or eating healthy. It also allows you to track your mood and write notes about your day.

User Test Script

1.Open app and check weather forecast
2.If you are curious about specific index predictions, you can view the predictions page
3.Are you prone to getting migraines or do you have bad allergies? The prediction pages can help prepare you for your day
4.Oh no! The day isn’t going that great, you should record it in the entry log to remember what happened.
5.Now you’re suffering with a bad headache, you should record it so you can better track your symptoms.
6. Now you’re wondering how many days out of the month do I suffer from migraines/allergies/etc.
7.You would like a concise way to view all of your logs throughout the month.

Results

My users had difficulty using the app. I had to make a lot of changes. Here is the feed back I received:
-Add back button so user doesn’t have to rely on bottom navigation
- redo quick icons
- add a submit button on all entry log pages
- make calendar days clickable so user can review their logs from that day
- user said app was fairly eaasy to use but needs slight adjustments.
