Polyphemus Moth

The Polyphemus Moth is a North American member of the family Saturniidae, the giant silk moths. It is a tan colored moth, with an average wingspan of 15 cm. The most notable feature of the moth is its large, purplish eyespots on its two hindwings.

The Promethea Silkmoth (Callosamia promethea), is a member of the Saturnidae family of moths. Their wingspan measures 7.5-9.5 cm. C. promethea is found in the eastern half of the United States and lower parts of eastern Canada.

Royal Oak Moth

The regal moth, also called the royal oak moth, is a North American moth in the saturniidae family. The caterpillars are called hickory horned devils. The life cycle is typical of the Saturniidae and Ceratocampinae. It burrows into the ground to pupate in an earthen chamber, rather than spinning a cocoon.

Cecropia Moth

The Cecropia Moth (Hyalophora cecropia) is North America's largest native moth, and a member ofthe Saturniidae family. Found as far west as the Rocky Mountains and north into the majority of Canada, the larvae of these moths are most commonly found on maple, cherry and birch trees.
