Description & Mashup Requirements

Someone will open this app on their phone when they need a ride. They will enter the address they wish to go to. A self-driving vehicle will come to their exact location to pick them up. The vehicle will scan their personal ID (such as a driver’s license) or biometrics (combination of FaceID & fingerprint ID) then allow the passenger to enter the vehicle. As the vehicle enters the vicinity of the pickup location, it will begin to scan faces of those outside to try and locate the passenger. The vehicle will pick up the passenger and drive them to the specified destination.

Existing App: Lyft (Ride Sharing App)

App Concept: Object Recognition & Identification

App Style: AirBNB

Features

  1. User requests a ride to a certain destination & travels to that destination via self-driving car
  2. App accepts payment for ride
  3. App notifies user when car has arrived
  4. User reports car not showing up
  5. App displays with real-time updates on car locations
  6. Car uses passenger authentication
  7. App gives passenger instructions to find exact location they should be waiting for their ride
    • Similar to AirTag precise location interface
    • Rather than telling the user to “wait in the parking lot”, it will guide the user to the exact location to stand and wait so they’re less likely to wait in the wrong place.
  8. Vehicle scans faces in vicinity of pickup area to attempt to determine location of user.
    • If vehicle finds user waiting in a spot other than the location specified by the app, and that matches the GPS location of the user, the car will drive to the person it scans.
      • If user has reported car not showing up, the car will automatically drive to location specified by app and NOT the person it has scanned.
  9. User has ability to scan any car and the app will tell the user if that is/is not the car that’s come to pick them up.
  10. App relays exact location of passenger to car so the car knows exactly where to pick up the passenger
  11. User reports if car is dirty
