The National Cherry Blossom Festival came in first place as a "Top 100 Event in Washington, D.C." in the Parades, Walks and Festivals category. It also won "Top 100 Event in the United States" in the Festivals, Parades and Holiday Events category. Standing room along the Parade route is free, but grandstand seats ensure the best view, and tickets are now on sale for individuals and groups of 10 or more.

Judges announce the winner and creator of this year's 2016 official artwork. It was created by Thomas Burns from Gainesville, Florida. This one-of-a-kind artwork is an annual collector's item, and may be purchased online this fall. New this year, Guest Services will donate $1 to the Cherry Tree Maintenance Endowment Fund for every poster sold.
