The first steps of the process was to identify the problems of the site. We went through the website as if we were enrolling into classes. Along the way we took screenshots of all the steps we took to get to our goal. We wrote down "pain points" we came across. We also noted the good aspects of MyKu.
The Second stop of the Analysis process was to create a flow chart of the steps we took while enrolling in classes in Myku.
Step 3 was to create personas for fictional users of MyKu. We put ourselves in a few diffrent users shoes and figured out how they would use to site to find what they wanted. After coming up with persons we gave scenerios for each.
The fourth step was to research well designed websites that was easy for the user to filter between optionsto get the best result in the most efficient way.
Next we created rough wireframes on paper of our idea of desktop and mobile verion of MyKu. We started with thumbnails of the MyKu Homepage all the way to the end of the enrollment process. The wireframes are not to show visually what the website would look like through colors and fonts. The thumbs allowed for us to map out of layout of the redesign.
Next we took our sketched wire frames and turned them into digital ones through a professional app known as UxPin. This site allowed for us to more accuretely depict where aspects were going throughout our redesign of MyKu.
The next step was to have individuals test our digital wireframes. We would give a handful of students scenerios and we would monitor the process they took to complete the scenerio. As they worked their way through the questions we would monitor where they hesitated in making a decision or where they completely undertstood the choices they made. We noted the struggles and accomplishments each individual made so we could make our redesign more user friendly.
