My artwork is a hidden narrative to most viewers. I collect images that I see on a regular basis that are often overlooked and try to turn them into something with a deeper meaning. I try to have a diverse scatter of subjects, which allows me to form connections easily. I see these compilations more as self-portraits than for someone else. They give me the opportunity to examine myself, and events I have been through.

I compile these images in a layout that most would see as a collage but to me it is very important to maintain the flatness of the paper. By keeping this flatness it reminds me that this is only an image and nothing further. Emotions that can be drawn out from an image always interested me.I grew up a lot around construction and the idea of building and progress. Because of that, I tend to question what progress is.

Link concepts. Mystery, there is a narrative but people make up their own interpretations rather than me connect the dots. I find inspirations in my every day, suburbs, travel, and advertisements. Some very simple objects can seem entirely different or have a different meaning in the context of my works. I choose to enclose my images in basic geometric shapes to give an order to the direction of view. I see the square not only as a shape sometimes but as pixels like those of which we are growing up with; how all the compartments in the work make up a bigger meaning to a more complex whole.

My compositions are influenced by the media we live in. We are constantly bombarded with images and I think that pop art was and is still happening along with postmodern. Everything seems resampled and altered but still familiar.I’m still a kid at heart which would probably explain why I like to work with a very graphic style. The style relates to the constant bombardment via advertisements.
