Introduction

We were tasked with recreating Stowe Mountain Resort's Online Store. We needed to make it have better user experience and be less confusing with what you were buying.

Shopping Cart Comparison

Find shopping carts to compare Stowe's to and what we could incorporate to make Stowe's Cart and shopping experience better.

Revise flow charts for examples that were given

Existing user (has physical ESC card), who is not currently logged in, wants to add 3 (non-consecutive) days to the pass. User has a login but has forgotten password. Will complete order.

New user, plans to ski often, wants to buy a season pass, plans to ski a lot. Wants to compare prices between buying several lift tickets vs purchasing a season pass. Ultimately wants to buy a season pass, has ESC card, remembers login/pass. Will purchase.

New user coming to the site, no knowledge of terms/requirements Stowe has imposed, just want a single lift ticket for the day, wants simplest cheapest option. Is browsing on a phone.

Family of 4 coming to ski, wants to find the cheapest way for everyone to ski for just 1 day. Parents want the kids to be able to purchase food on the card, if possible. Will complete order for cheapest option after comparing.

Personas

Create Personas to go through Stowe's site to see where problem points where and what was easy to do.

Direct Competitors

We had to find direct competitors and see what they were doing right and what they were doing wrong compared to the Stowe site.

We were also tasked with revising the flow chart we made and making a list of our Top Goals and Anit-goals.

With choosen design style we made mockups of our homepage for mobile and one additional page both desktop and mobile sizes.

User Testing Results

1st Tester: Phil

His comments: To make the picture just be on main page. Also on the lift tickets page to label the days because it seems like people not number of days.

2nd Tester: Michelle

Her comments: To make the picture on the main page or to make the page go over the picture when you scroll so you don't have to scroll all the way down each time. Possibly make the page start up further. Also make Bypass and lift ticket differences more clear.
