ASSIGNMENT :

To redesign the user experience (ux) and user interface (ui) of the Stowe Online Store to purchase lift tickets and redesign the existing purchasing system of the ski resort.

PART 1 : Planning

Started by taking notes while experiencing the sites current ordering process. From this, we made a process flow, which we continued to add to as progressed in the assignment. Included in this are examples of online stores that we believed to have good ordering systems.

PART 2 : Process Flow & Personas

Based on class discussion, we revised our original process flow and added process flows based on assigned scenarios. 5 personas of (somewhat) fictional users were created to show "average" clients for the site.

PART 3 : Competitors & Goals

Researched and recorded "direct" competitors. From this, we grouped up and produced a bulleted list of goals and anti-goals for the redesign of the site. We began the creation of a Master Process Flow that in the next part.

PART 4 : Master Process Flow

Hand-sketched additional process flows that would combine into the final Master Process Flow. Used this flow to create the wirefames and final mockup of the test site.

PART 5 : Wireframes & Mockups

Designed wireframes/mockups that met certain requirements. Made revisions, then finalized the mockups for desktop and mobile.

PART 6 : Test Site

PART 7 : User Testing

Once the test site was complete, I tested the following with a group of individuals ranging from basic to moderate internet and phone usage.

Mobile - ESC CARD INFO

» User has just discovered the Stowe Online Store and have no idea what the Evolution Stowe Card is.

Mobile - GUEST 1

» User is buying tickets for themself and their two kids. Everyone is interested in skiing all season long. All individuals have ESC cards.

Desktop - GUEST 2

» User intends to buy a Bypass for themself. They are not interested in being a member of the Stowe Online Store. They do not have an ESC Card.

Desktop - MEMBER 1

» User is interested in being a member of the Stowe Online Store, and does not have an ESC. They are interested in purchasing a One Day Lift Access ticket.

Desktop - MEMBER 2

» User wants to compare the price of an Adult 1 Day Lift Access to the StoweFive Season Pass.

PART 8 : Results

For the most part, user testers did alright. Some hiccups were with the Bypass because users could not order more than one pass at a time. Most users were confused by the various ticket options that Stowe offers. Some even found humerous spelling errors, but other than these and a few others, the site functioned accordingly.
