Sir James Paul McCartney is an English musician, singer, songwriter, record and film producer, and author. He rose to fame as bassist and co-lead vocalist of the Beatles, then going on to lead his band “Wings,” as well as fruitful solo career. McCartney’s collaboration with John Lennon is known as the most successful songwriting partnership in history in terms of records sold.

He is the proud father of Stella, Heather, Beatrice, James, and Mary McCartney, as well as the proud grandfather of his eight grandchilderen.

McCartney is also an avid animal rights activitst and founder of of the not-for-profit campaign “Meat Free Monday” along with daughters Stella and Mary McCartney.

BEATLES

The Beatles were an English rock band of the 1960s who revolutionised the music industry and achieved previously unseen levels of fame and popularity. Composed of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr, the Beatles are thought to be the most influential rock band of all time. They have sold more than 600 million albums worldwide, and are the record holder for the most No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100.

SOLO & WINGS

After the break-up of the Beatles, Paul released his debut solo album, McCartney. Since this he has released 14 other solo albums, including his most recent in 2020, McCartney III.

In 1971, Paul formed the band “Wings” along with his wife, Linda McCartney, and guitarist Denny Laine of the Moody Blues. They, along with a frequently changing line-up, recorded 7 studio albums and 5 concert tours.
