Pop’s Malt Shoppe took many forms before it grew into the shop we know today. The Bean Cellar opened in 2002, with the intention of doing mostly coffee and cafe style dining. However, when soft serve ice cream was introduced, it was clear that Kutztown wanted ice cream. In 2005, Joel spent three weeks creating and constructing the feel of a 50′s malt shoppe. We opened upstairs with a simple menu, consisting mostly of soft serve, sundaes, and hot dogs. Since Pop’s was created in 2005, it has become a great place for family and friends to dine in a friendly environment, where we allow each of our customers to be part of Pop’s. In Spring 2012, we will introduce a new menu featuring sandwiches, specialty coffee drinks, hot dogs, hamburgers, french fries, smoothies, malts, shakes, sundaes, floats, and all things ice cream. Our vintage style 50′s malt shoppe provides a “down-home” feel with it’s family-friendly atmosphere, so come see us for a treat you won’t regret or have it delivered to your doorstep!
From Allentown-Take the Kutztown exit off of Rt. 222 and head down Main Street. Pop’s is at the corner of Main Street and Noble on the left.
From Reading-Take the Kutztown/Virginville exit off of Rt. 222. Make a left onto Krumsville Road (Greenwich Street). Make a right onto Main Street and Pop’s is a block up on your left.
Pop’s is the perfect place to host your next event. We implement a no cooking, no clean-up, and no hassle policy for all guests. Our “Hollywood” dining room is a retro style room fit for parties, reunions, or a customized event of your choice. Packages can be modified upon request, and prices will be adjusted accordingly.

$12 per guest
-hot dog or hamburger

-party favor bag of gummies
-freshly popped popcorn
Choose From:
-3 hand-dipped flavors OR soft serve vanilla, chocolate and twist
-Pick 4 specialty toppings
-Each includes whipped cream and a cherry
Traditional Style:
$10 per guest -hot dog or hamburger -french fries - regular fountain drink -small ice cream with one topping -party favor bag or candy gummies -freshly popped popcorn
*An additional charge of $50/hour will be added to packages of parties occupying our entire dining room or if you wish to make your event private.
Off-site Events
Is our shoppe unable to accomodate your needs? We’re not offended. In fact, we’d love to come to you. We’ve done carnivals, farm shows, and other miscellaneous off-site events, and we’re always willing to try something new. Pricing and packages will be determined on an induvidual basis
