The user will use their hand to interrupt the multiple lasers that are projecting within the enclosure. When the beam is interrupted it reflects back off the user’s hand and shines into a light sensor that will read and process the light. The lights will be flashing back and forth in a predetermined path to display multiple lines like a harp. The Mirror, that is attached to the motor, reflects the light from the laser to form the beams.
The original sketch of our design is shown below. From this we worked out the bugs and ended up with our enclosed laser harp as our final product.
An illustrated sound board was created using Adobe Illustrator, it was printed and mounted on a board. Holes were made on buttons and filled with cunductive ink. It was then wired on the back of the board to an ardunio. When the user touched the buttons they were able to change instruments, imagery color, and volume.
This was one of many starting points for the graphics. This was one of Dr. Parson’s projects that we started with and re-interpreted it into what we wanted. This controls the drawing and spinning of the graphics.
This snippet of code is a prototype where the mouse press acted as a laser beam being broken. When the mouse was pressed the triangle under the xy coordinate would scale and rotate.

The pattern and original colors were inspired by Cacharel Lou Lou Eau Perfume bottle. The geometric cap and contrasting light blue and orange became the main inspiration for this design.
Below are sketches that were done leading up to the final logo. Colors from our sound board display were used to tie the whole thing together.
