Underwater Music Festival takes place completely underwater at Looe Key Reef, Florida. Divers and snorkelers can explore the only living coral barrier reef in the United States. While people swim among tropical fish, we play music. This year, our playlist includes Jimmy Buffet, Paramore, and Aerosmith, and more.
Divers not only have fun by jamming out to music, but they dress in costumes too! Any look is welcome, from dive suits to mermaids to rockstars. We stream our event to Facebook so that everyone can enjoy the music and see all the fun. August Powers, a local artist, crafts sea life-inspired instruments for divers and snorkelers to “play” along to the music.
The festival will be on July 10th – 11th, 2020. At 6 p.m. on Friday, we plan to have a conference about reef preservation with a $10 fee. All proceeds will go towards reef conservation. On Saturday, July 11th, we will host the Underwater Music Festival from 10 a.m to 2 p.m.
The festival’s focus is to protect the local coral reefs and the delicate marine environment that makes up the Looe Key Sanctuary Preservation Area. Through our event, we hope to bring awareness to our coral reefs to preserve, rebuild, and restore them.
Dive in and join the band at the Underwater Music Festival! Snorkel or dive to the variety of music that you get to enjoy with the fishes! Sign up and join our conference on Chamber Events.
