Interactive Game and Installation

by Taylor Ludemann, Emily Rudolph, and Abby Scheuerman

The Task

Create a project that is interactive (either in real-time, or previously generated by an interactive process) that exists in either a physical environment or on the web. If the project is web-based it cannot be a traditional website that conveys static information, it must be dynamic and generated by some means of creative coding.

Inspiration

We were really inspired by Google's Racer: A Chrome Experiment. We liked that it was in a browser, and anyone who had a smart phone or tablet could play with each other, effecting each other's experience. You can read more about it here.

Idea

Our concept was a game called "Tappy Cat" It is a game where an alley cat needs to collect treats for his hungry belly. It is a multiplayer experience where multiple phones/ tablets can be connected to form the "alley," where Scrappy will run back and forth and the player can make him jump by tapping the screen.

Visuals

We wanted to emulate the pixel art we all grew up with playing games like Mario, Pacman, and Legend of Zelda.
