BRIEF

Redesign user experience (ux) and user interface (ui) for the student-facing portion of myKU, specifically the parts of the site that are related to class registration, planning, & enrollment. After some research and Information Architecture documentation, build a prototype of a web app that makes this process painless, and maybe even fun. Aswell as optimizing this process for desktop & touch-devices.

1

FLOWCHART & SITEMAP

First step was to do a deep analysis of the all portions of the course schedule process by capturing these steps in a process flow. Creating multiple disconnected flows for each step in the process. Listing the "pain points" along the ordering process.

PERSONAS

Created 5 personas for fictional users of myku. The goal of persona was to put myself in a typical user's shoes and figure out how/why they would use the site. Based on my 5 personas, I had to write at least 10 scenarios of typical uses for myKU, linked to each person. I had to include the things that happen before registering, looking up requirements, meeting with advisor, planning alternate schedules on paper, etc.

DESKTOP & MOBILE

Created paper "storyboards"/wireframes of each page. Focused on sketches of visual- details were not necessary, but interaction had to be captured. Links and headlines were neccessary. No body copy. Each page on different piece paper, page filled. Capturing all of the pages on flow chart. Big, quick wireframes.

MOCKUPS

Digitized all of my wireframes and got them ready for user testing. Made tasks from script interactive.
