The goal of this project is to create an Android mobile application in which the user will be able to use their handheld device to locate buildings residing on the Kutztown University of Pennsylvania campus and obtain information about buildings and the campus itself with a download of the application and a simple tap of the finger.
The app will include a map view, which will show an aerial view of the campus, including a feature that shows you where you are in real time using GPS. The map view will have options to search for a specific building or type of building, highlighting the appropriate areas.
Another view will have access to the camera of the phone to provide an augmented reality. As you hold the phone up to the different buildings, information will pop up about that building, with options to click for more information, etc. The camera view will only show information of buildings within certain proximity.
