The first step in this process is planning and starting a writeup which we will continue to add to over the course of this project.
Based on class discussion, revise your original process flow and add a process flow for the following scenarios. Be sure to note any frustrations/confusion/questions at each step (to be fixed later).
Personas. you'll need to create 5 personas for fictional users of your ticketing app.
It's important to know your "direct" competitors, find at least 3 with a better online ordering system.
Digitize your process flow.
Based on reading and mobile considerations, start on mockups, two versions of "home page".
Revise mockup of desktop & mobile. Make 1 additional content page at both sizes.
The link to the prototype of the website can be found here!
Add results of your usability testing, and your usability testing questions to your Info Architecture website.
1. Login, add 1 Adult ESC w/ByPass, 1 Child ticket, and 1 Adult ticket to the shopping cart. Proceed with checkout.
2. Login, add Gary Stu to your ESC accounts.
3. Fill out the Contact Us page.
4. Find out where the Season Pass Office is located.
5. Add 2 Adult season passes on a mobile device but go back to the navigation instead of proceeding to the checkout.
Test 1
Login > Clicked ESC on account page > Forgot to add Bypass > Added ticket, may have only added the adult ticket > Checkout Process > Found Season Pass
User seemed confused at times. Labels could be helpful.
Test 2
Home > Season Pass> Index > Special Offers > Tickets, Season Pass
Labels needed. Make directions more clear. LIST PRICES. Confusing layout. Include a pop-up notification for shopping cart addition.
Test 3
Login > New User > Special Offers > Tickets, 1 ESC added, 2 tickets added > checkout
Need better labels. Back buttons may be useful.
Test 4
Login > Account, ESC, Can't figure out how to purchase ESC > Tickets, adds ESC, adds extra ESC, repeats step and correctly adds tickets instead > checkout
Login > Account, ESC > Add User, Gary Stu > Double check to make sure he's been added
Apparently you CAN activate hovers on a Samsung S6 smart phone. Some readability issues due to the background. Labelling is a problem.
Test 5
Login > Stuck on login page, potential loading issue, reload page, still stuck, potential overload, reload again > Swap laptops (it should be noted that this part of the test was done using Mozilla Firefox)
Login > Accounts, ESC, New User > Ticket, adds ESC and tickets > checkout
Login> Accounts, preferences, ESC > Contact Us, Submit > Ticket, Season Pass, Office located
Mobile > Tickets, Seaspn Pass > Accidentally pressed the home button for the phone, pressed the back button on the phone > Navigation
Made a comment supporting a cart notification be installed. There's a potential issue with the site being used on Firefox since it loaded just fine on both Safari and Chrome.
Note the top 3 issues that you discovered from your testing.
1. Labeling, link names, and directions need to be more clear for visitors.
2. The website seemed to confuse testers either because of the way things were labeled or how they were arranged on the site pages.
3. Update shopping experience to include prices, a notification that something was added to the cart, and a list of items being purchased on the checkout page.
